Close to the end of the Gladbach game, Niklas Süle went forward to force a goal. Kovac instructed him to go back to defense. Süle discussed with Kimmich for a while then went to attack again. Kovac was left stunned on the touchline.

Kimmich supported the decision of Süle: "We simply needed to score!"

Kovac criticised: "Everyone wants to rush forward and attack too quickly!"
