001 God finished making the sky and everything in it and the earth and everything on it as well.
002 On the seventh day all the work that God had done was finished. He rested on the seventh day. He didn't work.
003 God blessed the seventh day. He made it into a holy day. For on that day He rested after He had finished doing all his work.
004 This is how the sky and the earth began when God made it. When the Lord God made the sky and the earth,
005 there were no plants in the field on the earth yet. There were no plants growing, for the Lord God didn't let rain fall yet. There was no human who could work on the ground yet either.
006 There was water coming up out of the earth and the water wetted the ground.
007 The the Lord God took dust out of the ground and He made a human from the dust. The Lord God breathed into the human's nose, and the human started being alive.
008 The Lord God planted trees in the garden in Eden in the east. He let the human that he had made live there.
009 The Lord God had different kinds of trees grow out of the ground. They were beautiful trees that bore delicious fruits. The tree that gives life was in the middle of the garden and the tree that can give humans the knowledge so that they will know what good is and what bad is as well.
010 There was a river coming from Eden to wet the garden. The river split and it became four rivers.
011 The name of the first river was the Bison. This river flowed around the entire land of Havila. There was gold
012 and the gold was good. There was balsam and onyx, too.
013 The name of the second river was the Gihon. It flowed around the entire land of Kus.
014 The name of the third river was the Tigris. It flowed to the east of Assyria. The name of the fourth river was the Euphrates.
015 The Lord God had the human live in the garden of Eden to work in it and take care of it.
016 The Lord God told the human: "You may eat of all the fruits in the garden,
017 but the fruits of one tree. You may not eat of it. It is the tree that can help you know what good is and what bad is. If you eat of those fruits, you will die then. It is certain."
018 The Lord God said: "It is not good that the human is alone. I will make him a partner who can help him."
019 The Lord God took dust then and He made all the animals on the land and all the birds. Then He brought all the animals and the birds to the human. The Lord God wanted to know which names the human would give the animals. So the animals got their names.
020 The human gave names to all the tame animals, the birds and the wild animals, but for himself, he couldn't get a parter to help him.
021 The Lord God made the human sleep fast then. He took a rib out of the human's chest, and He closed the place back where He took it out.
022 Then The Lord God made a woman from the man's rib and He brought her to the man.
023 The man said then: "Now the Lord has brought someone
who is a human like me.
Her body comes out of my body
Her name should be woman
for she comes out of the man."
024 Therefore a man goes away from his father and mother and he goes to live at his wife's place, so that they can be one.
025 The man and his wife were naked, but they were not ashamed of that.
